Privacy policy
How information submitted through this site is collected, used, disclosed, and retained — and how to have it removed.
Effective August 11, 2026.
1. Scope and definitions
This Privacy Policy (this “Policy”) describes how Knockout Sealcoating (“Knockout Sealcoating,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects information obtained through the website at knockoutsealcoating.com and its subpages (the “Site”), including the estimate request form made available on the Site (the “Estimate Form”).
“You” means any individual who visits the Site or submits an Estimate Form. “Personal Information” means information that identifies, relates to, or can reasonably be linked with you or your household, as further described in Sections 2 and 3.
The Site is directed to property owners and property managers located in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the surrounding service area, and is intended for use only within the United States. By using the Site, you acknowledge the practices described in this Policy.
2. Information you provide directly
We collect the following categories of Personal Information when you complete and submit the Estimate Form:
- Identifiers and contact information. Your name and telephone number. Both are required. The Estimate Form does not request an email address; the telephone number you provide is the channel by which we respond.
- Property and service address information. The ZIP code of the property is required. The street address and town are optional and are collected only if you choose to supply them.
- Service and communications content. The service category you select, if any, and any information you voluntarily include in the free-text description of the work you are requesting.
You are not required to submit an Estimate Form to browse the Site. Any information you elect to include in the free-text field is provided at your own discretion, and you should not submit information you do not wish us to receive.
3. Information collected automatically
When you use the Site, the following categories of information are collected automatically and, where indicated, are transmitted to us together with an Estimate Form submission:
- Usage and navigation data. The pages of the Site you view, the sequence in which you view them, elements you select or click, the approximate time spent on the page from which an Estimate Form is submitted, and the approximate duration of your browsing session.
- Acquisition data. The referring website or source that directed you to the Site, and any campaign parameters contained in the link you followed.
- Device and browser data. Device category, viewport dimensions, browser language, time zone setting, and the user-agent string transmitted by your browser.
- Session identifier. A randomly generated identifier assigned to your browsing session. It is not derived from, and is not linked to, any identifier issued by a government authority or any third party.
- Approximate location derived from IP address. Our hosting and infrastructure provider derives an approximate city, region, and country from the internet protocol (IP) address associated with your request, and that approximate location is recorded with an Estimate Form submission. We do not retain your IP address in our own records of your request. Your IP address is processed transiently to enforce submission rate limits and to detect abuse, and may appear in the routine, short-term server logs maintained by our hosting and infrastructure provider.
- Aggregate traffic measurement. Aggregate page-view and traffic measurement is performed by our hosting and infrastructure provider on a cookieless basis and does not identify individual visitors to us.
- Diagnostic and error data. If the Site encounters a technical error in your browser, a diagnostic report consisting of the error message, the page path on which it occurred, and your browser’s user-agent string is transmitted to us. That report does not include any information you entered into the Estimate Form. Separately, if a technical failure occurs while your submitted request is being processed, a diagnostic report that may include the information you submitted is transmitted to us and to our error-monitoring channel so that your request is not lost.
4. Cookies and similar local browser storage technologies
We do not use cookies for advertising, behavioral profiling, or cross-site tracking, and no advertising or cross-site tracking technology is deployed on the Site.
The information described in Section 3 is retained by your browser in first-party local browser storage technologies (specifically, local storage and session storage) rather than in cookies. Session-scoped entries are cleared when you close the browser tab, the browsing session expires automatically after thirty (30) minutes of inactivity, and all such entries may be removed at any time by clearing your browsing data through your browser’s settings. Blocking or clearing this storage does not prevent you from using the Site or submitting an Estimate Form.
5. Purposes of use
We use the categories of information described in Sections 2 and 3 for the following purposes only:
- (a) To receive, evaluate, and respond to your estimate request, including contacting you by telephone and preparing a quotation for the property identified;
- (b) To schedule, perform, and administer services you request from us, and to maintain records of customer inquiries and transactions;
- (c) To understand how visitors reach and use the Site, and what a prospective customer reviewed before contacting us, so that inquiries can be answered more accurately;
- (d) To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site, including detecting and preventing automated, fraudulent, or abusive submissions and enforcing submission rate limits;
- (e) To diagnose and correct technical failures affecting the Site or the Estimate Form; and
- (f) To comply with applicable law and to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
We do not use the information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
6. Disclosure to third parties
We do not disclose Personal Information except as described in this Section.
- Service providers. We disclose Personal Information to third-party vendors that process information on our behalf and under contract, solely to provide services to us and not for their own independent purposes. These vendors fall into the following categories: (a) third-party hosting and infrastructure providers, which serve the Site and process requests submitted to it; (b) third-party data storage and business-management services, in which estimate requests are recorded and maintained as our record of your inquiry; (c) third-party email delivery services, through which notification of your request is delivered to our own business inbox, and, where enabled, to a mobile number by short message service (SMS) via a mobile carrier gateway, and which contains a link to a third-party mapping service for directions to the property address; and (d) third-party error-monitoring and diagnostic services, which receive the reports described in Section 3.
- Legal process and protection of rights. We may disclose information where we reasonably believe disclosure is required by applicable law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or other lawful process, or where disclosure is necessary to investigate suspected fraud or abuse, to enforce our agreements, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Knockout Sealcoating, our customers, or the public.
- Business transfer. If Knockout Sealcoating is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information covered by this Policy may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the terms of this Policy or a successor policy of comparable protection.
7. No sale of personal information
We do not sell Personal Information, and we do not rent, trade, or otherwise disclose Personal Information to third parties for their own marketing purposes. We do not share Personal Information with advertising networks, data brokers, or cross-context behavioral advertising services.
8. Data retention
We retain estimate requests and the associated information described in Sections 2 and 3 for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes set out in Section 5, to maintain business and tax records, and to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. Diagnostic and error reports are retained only as long as needed to identify and correct the underlying issue. Information held in your browser’s local storage is retained on your device, subject to the session expiry and clearing described in Section 4, and is not retained by us in that form. We delete information earlier upon a verified request as described in Section 10.
9. Security
We maintain reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. These measures include transmission of information over encrypted connections, credential-restricted access to the systems in which estimate requests are stored, limits on the volume of submissions accepted from a single source, and technical controls designed to detect and discard automated submissions. No method of transmission over the internet and no method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we therefore cannot and do not guarantee the absolute security of any information.
10. Your choices and requests
You may request that we provide access to, correct, or delete the Personal Information we hold about you by contacting us at the telephone number set out below. We may ask you for information sufficient to verify that the request comes from you or your authorized agent before we act on it. We will respond within a reasonable period and will honor verified deletion requests except where retention is required by law or is necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
You may also decline to provide optional information on the Estimate Form, and you may clear or block the local browser storage described in Section 4 through your browser’s settings, at any time and without affecting your ability to use the Site.
11. Children’s privacy
The Site is directed to property owners and property managers and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from any individual under thirteen (13) years of age. If you believe a child has provided Personal Information through the Site, contact us at the telephone number set out below and we will delete it.
12. Do Not Track
Certain browsers transmit a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no uniform industry standard governing how such signals must be interpreted, and the Site does not currently respond to them. As stated in Sections 4 and 7, the Site does not deploy advertising or cross-site tracking technology in any event.
13. Links to third-party websites
The Site contains links to websites operated by third parties, including social media platforms and review platforms. We do not control those websites, and this Policy does not apply to them. Your use of a linked website is governed by that operator’s own privacy policy and terms, and we encourage you to review them.
14. Changes to this Policy
We may revise this Policy from time to time. Any revision takes effect when the revised Policy is posted on this page, and the effective date at the top of this page will be updated accordingly. Material changes will be reflected in the posted text; your continued use of the Site after a revision is posted constitutes acknowledgment of the revised Policy.
15. Contact
Questions about this Policy, and requests for access to, correction of, or deletion of your Personal Information, may be directed to Knockout Sealcoating by telephone at the number set out below.
